I got my first own dog in 2003, a saluki girl “Juuli”. I love the complex personality of a saluki, an independent and fierce hunter, fast runner and slightly aloof to stragers, yet loyal and loving companion to their family.
I was not initially interested in dog shows but Juuli’s breeder encouraged me to enter to a dog show when she was a puppy. Of course I got the “show bug” and have shown my own dogs ever since. In 2011 with my 2nd saluki “Luna” I couldn’t find a suitable show lead to show her in, and thought that “maybe I could do one myself”… Then a few friends wanted similar leads and I have been braiding show leads to this day.
I prefer kangaroo show leads as with the leather I feel I have the best contact to the dog and it is soft to my hands. I can make color combinations to best suit the dog and get individual and beatiful leads to last long time. For collars I have used both slip collars and half-check collars depending on the dog.
